Winchester .410 M42 Stock and Forend

I am VERY pleased with the quality of wood and checkering. Having a problem fitting the forend because my M42 was made in 1940, and subsequent minor changes by Winchester occurred. I have a good 'smith' who will fit as necessary. I ordered this stock set because my "Double Diamond" original wood is an English stock, and that early Winchester will fire upon bolt closure IF one's finger is not completely off the trigger; a feature Winchester modified in later models. Consequently, in skeet doubles, I have a concern I believe the 'pistol grip' will assist in control. BUT, it remains a fact that the Winchester Model 42, English stocked or otherwise, is the finest small-bore pump shotgun ever made.
