Browning BAR History

The production of the BAR high power rifle began in 1967 and lasted through 1992. The BAR Mark II series was introduced in 1993 and is still in production.

Example: 69M1000 = A 1969 BAR High Power rifle with a serial number of 1000.

This is a superb item. Machining quality is excellent. Better than the factory item due to stainless steel construction. It does include the buffer, but not the 2 buffer spacers. If yours are worn you will need to purchase those separately

The kit was an exact fit. I did have a bit of a problem getting the end piece out of the gas actuator. I put every thing I had on it, and it wouldn't budge I sprayed it with aerokroil and let it sit overnight , next morning it came right apart. my end piece was an old origional screw type, it's actually the gas regulator part #31 you might want to order a new one with your kit currently about $8.50 .

The spring kit was an exact fit for my BAR rifle. The new spring was approximately 1” longer than the original. The spring guide is stainless. I cleaned the gas piston area at the same time. It was not a hard job to do.

Exactly what my 1977 BAR needed to get back into action. The original buffer had cracked and fallen apart, leaving the operating system rather violent. The BAR I have is in 30-06 and has over time worn the spring and guide rod down. So, I looked into replacing the buffer and found the spring and stainless steel guide rod all in one. What a fantastic kit and the for and finish is fantastic. Honestly, a great refreshment for an older or well used BAR. Shipping was quick and well packed, very happy customer!
