Description: Apex Tactical FN 509 Threaded Barrel. Made from heat-treated stainless steel with a black Melonite finish, this threaded barrel is designed to be a direct drop-in upgrade for all FN 509 pistols that came with a factory 4", non-threaded barrel. This includes FN 509 Midsize and FN 509 pistols. The barrel features a 1:10" twist rate designed to increase accuracy performance and is threaded 1/2-28 for easy installation of a compensator or suppressor. Included with the barrel are a thread protector with O-ring.

The 1/2-28 thread pattern is precision machined concentric to the bore within .0015".

I am in the process of getting my suppressor "approved" from the feds. While waiting I decided to purchase my needed threaded barrel for my FN 509 midsize. The only one I could find was from Apex. So from Apex and Midwest I purchase it. Just like they say is a drop in installation and there was zero problems with the installation. Took it to the range and to my surprise found out that some 9mm rounds/casings are not fitting well. After a few closer looks I discovered that the ammunitions I was using was steel casing with nickel plated coating (crappy ammo). Some how this ammo was too tight for the barrel. I dropped a brass casing ammo in the barrel and was very happy surprised to see that the ammo was fitting perfectly. So now I am using with this barrel brass ammo and I am very happy and it cycles very well with my Rugged suppressor. Don't use crappy ammo. Happy with the barrel, Apex and Midwest.
