Designed to function on the P220 or P227 series of 10mm / .45 ACP pistols from Sig, the spring applies pressure to the catch lever so that it may travel and rebound crisply when operated. Had an issue with my P220 where the last round never caused the slide catch to stay locked back. This took less than 10 minutes to replaced and worked perfectly.
