Description: Browning Gold / BPS 2 Hole Scope Base With Screws.  This scope base will work on all Browning Gold and BPS shotguns except for the 10 gauge models.  This kit includes the scope base, screws, and lock washers.  This mount requires the use of Weaver style rings. This is a Browning factory original part.

In 1976 Browning standardized its serial number identification which it followed until 1998.

  2. Date of Manufacture is a two digit code:

This would be a BPS Hunter 12 ga., manufactured in 1977 with the serial number 01001.

1998-Present

In 1998 Browning redid the standardization of its serial number identifications to work with its new data base program, Oracle. This is followed to the present day.

  1. Serial Number beginning with 01001 at the start of each year.
  2. Date of Manufacture is a two digit code:
    Z=1, Y=2, X=3, W=4, V=5, T=6, R=7, P=8, N=9, M=0
  3. BPS Type: 121=Camo, Hunter, Stalker and Game in all gauges

This would be a BPS shotgun, manufactured in 1998 with the serial number 01001.

The production of the Gold semi-automatic shotgun began in 1993. The Gold 10ga. is the only Gold Gun still in production.

In 1976 Browning standardized its serial number identification which it followed until 1998. The Gold 10ga. went into production in 1993. This gun is produced in Japan and uses the following serial number configuration until 1998.

  3. Gold 10 ga. Type: R91=Gold 10 ga

Gold 10 ga. Serial Number Example:

This would be a Gold 10 ga., manufactured in 1993 with the serial number 01001.

1994-1997

The Gold family of 12 and 20 ga. shotguns was introduced in 1994. They are produced in Belgium and used the following serial number configuration until 1998.

  1. Gold Type:
    F51=Gold 12 ga. Hunter
    FT1= Gold 12 ga. Sporting Clays
    F61=Gold 20 ga. Hunter
  2. Date of Manufacture is a two digit code:
    Z=1, Y=2, X=3, W=4, V=5, T=6, R=7, P=8, N=9, M=0
  3. Serial Number beginning with 01001 at the start of each year.

Gold 12 & 20 ga. Serial Number Example:

F51NW01001

This would be a Gold 12 ga. Hunter, manufactured in 1994 with the serial number 01001.

1998

This is the Browning base to get if your Browning shotgun is predrilled with two holes. The other Browning weaver scope base has three holes and it will also work but having one empty hole doesn't look right.
