Description: Faxon Firearms 5.56 NATO 16" Gunner Profile AR-15 Barrel, Black Nitride. Machined from 4150 Mil-spec steel and finished with a black nitride finish, this 16" long barrel is designed to fit AR-15 platform rifles. Chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO/.223 Rem and button rifled, this barrel features a mid length gas system, twist rate of 1:8, gunner barrel profile, 1/2"x28 muzzle thread, M4 barrel extension and an 11-degree target crown. This barrel is perfect for your latest build, or as an upgrade to your current AR-15.

The Gunner profile is a blend of two of the best performing profiles of all time, Government and Pencil. Faxon's Gunner profile combines the durability of the Government profile with the weight savings and maneuverability of the Pencil profile. The Gunner profile brings the balance of the rifle back towards the shooter's body, limiting fatigue, and allowing for shooting, training, or hunting all day long.

I've used a number of these over the years, and each of them has exhibited the same accuracy, which is quite good; and the same quality, which is considerably beyond the mil-spec barrel. Slightly off topic, but the performance of these barrels prompted me to also start using their pistol barrels.

I was shopping for this barrel for a few weeks. MGW had it in stock! Bought the matching low profile gas block, it fits like a glove. Faxon makes good stuff...
