Replaced spring from the 1980's

The new spring was much longer and slightly wider than my factory spring from 40 years ago. It was more challenging to control during reassembly than the original. After several attempts and some harsh language, the magazine tube was back in place. The new spring delivers shells reliably and with more force than the older spring.

Bought my Mavric 88 12 guage in 1995. Haven5 shot it in about 5 years. Spring broke after 2nd shot. Midwest had OEM spring in-stock. Came when expected. Fit perfectly. Took Mav 88 out and shot 1, 2" 3/4 inch, #8 lead shot and 6, 2" 3/4, #00 buckshot. Maverick 88 is back in business!

Worked great! Mossberg springs and mag tubes need cleaning so once loosened it's easy! Springs get rust so I just replace them.

This was a replacement for an older 500A I had picked up. It was much longer than the original which caused the magazine to be one round short. No issue with feeding. I might try trimming it.
