This was my first time disassembling a pistol for repairs. I looked it up on utube and it looked like I could do it. It was not difficult, took less than an hour. Now my magazine stays locked in. Yes! Thank you Midwest for the steel replacement part that was about five dollars...

After many plastic replacements and one aluminum. Finally a much more needed Steel catch. Thank you so much now I can feel safe carrying it without the worries of magazine falling

Probably a good idea to have a second steel mag release button just in case.

It was a. Nice upgrade from the stock polymer catch that wears out so fast against a stock metal magazine that was a bad design by Smith. The part went right in decent price and fast shipping will do business again with these guys

Its much better than the original, not plastic and seems (feels) to be not as shallow as the original. Easier to release the mag with a good lock. Not sure if it is by design, just sit better or it just feels that way. It does not appear to accidentally release the mag when in the holster. So far it is great

This metal part replaced a poorly thought plastic part that made me hate this gun and all the failures to load, magazine self ejects it gave me over a few years. The proverbial straw and camels back was using duct tape holding magazine in and a cottonmouth at my pond at home. One shot, no shell loaded, the tape got warm and magazine slid out enough where another shell wouldnt load. 2 handed trying to shove magazine enough to load a second shot while the snake is stunned but doesnt have a hole through it yet. Dead poisonous snake and several searches and found this perfect fix.

Very quick service, original part is plastic this one is metal. Don't understand why S&W would make it like that. This was my first order from MGW but I am sure I will use them again. Thanks

Better than the Galloway option, better than the OEM polymer one.

I have the original S&W Bodyguard that came with the Insight laser (grey buttons). Those came with a polymer magazine catch/release. This magazine catch is just a little longer internally than the OEM polymer magazine catch, the same length as the Galloway Precision one, only this one has grip on the button instead of just being smooth. For $4 you can't go wrong with a steel part (the Galloway one is aluminum, but like $20), so no more worrying about the magazine catch wearing out over time and failing. The extended length also eliminates the magazine falling out problem I used to have. A very cheap must for any early generation Bodyguards. Installation is easy, all you need is a roll pin punch set.
