This 3-1/10" barrel is made for the M&P 9 Shield models of pistols from Smith & Wesson chambered in 9mm. The barrel is a drop in ready part and made to the high quality precision as you would come to expect from Smith & Wesson. This barrel is perfect for use in an emergency replacement stash and can be great to have in the spare parts chest. This item is proudly made in the USA by Smith & Wesson.

I bought the optic ready slide that only comes in 9mm. I bought this barrel and swapped it out with the .40 and no problems.

I got a really good deal on a Shield .40 but the recoil is pretty snappy and shooting a box of 50 rounds actually hurt my hand. I previously did a caliber swap with my M&P40C and added a 9mm barrel and mags and was thrilled with the ability to shoot both calibers in the same weapon. Fast forward and I’ve done it again. MWGW shipped my 9mm Shield barrel quickly and I was thrilled to shoot the Shield in 9mm! For anyone asking why I didn’t just buy the Shield in 9mm to begin with, my agency was carrying .40 pistols and has since switched to 9mm. And, I got a steal on the Shield 40 and even with the 9mm barrel and mag purchase, I’m still ahead of what a new Shield goes for. 5 Stars to MWGW!

The 9mm barrel dropped right in the 40 Shield fit was good. Fired several mags through it at the range with good accuracy and no problems. I used 40 caliber mags! However, I, have purchased a 9mm mag. There doesn't seem to be a discernable difference in the function of the 9 and 40 mags.
