Description: Smith & Wesson SDVE / M&P Series Extractor Pin. This extractor pin is made from stainless steel and is a factory original part from Smith & Wesson. This pin is designed for the M&P2.0, full sized, compact, and shield versions of the M&P M2.0, 9, 40, & 45 model of pistols from Smith & Wesson chambered in 9mm, .40 S&W, & .45 ACP respectively. The extractor pin retains the extractor in the pistol. This pin is perfect for use in an emergency replacement stash and can be great to have in the spare parts chest. This item is proudly made in the USA by Smith & Wesson.

Excellent replacement pin

This is a coil pin and is an excellent replacement for the extremely stubborn solid pins that S&W used in the early versions of the M&P pistols. Hint- get a cheap 1/16" "Solid Punch" for $7 to start the solid pin moving - it looks like a nail-set punch. Whack it with a 24 to 32 oz framing hammer and it will move.
A normal roll-pin punch or even a regular pin punch probably won't do it and will just bend (even the good ones from Grace tools). Also, note that this is a coil pin, not a roll pin, so it doesn't get all deformed like a roll pin does if you smack it wrong. Overall, this was a worthwhile $5 I spent on my two M&Ps. I got a couple of spares, too.
