Description: Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 / M&P 40 Recoil Guide Rod Assembly. This recoil guide is made of a strong stainless steel guide rod with a steel spring around it and is a factory original part from Smith & Wesson. The recoil guide is designed for the M&P M2.0 and M&P 40 model of pistols from Smith & Wesson chambered in .40 S&W with 4.25" barrels. The recoil guide rod assembly is crucial to mitigate the felt recoil of the pistol when fired and absorbs much of the backward force along with helping to cycle the firearm. This assembly is perfect for use in an emergency replacement stash and can be great to have in the spare parts chest. This item is proudly made in the USA by Smith & Wesson.

Perfect fit. Old assembly was feeling inconsistent and worn. New spring and guide rod brought it back to life. Groups are much tighter like they are supposed to be. Five stars, thanks Midwest Gun Works!

A couple of years back I purchased a LEO Trade In. Upon initial cleaning and inspection I must have noticed that the guide rod look like it had taken on some wear at the button end. Fast forward a couple years and another cleaning, a small piece of that button end chipped off during reassembly. I quick ordered a replacement from here but then later wondered if I had already purchased a spare and had done so. It never hurts to have an extra and the price was right here and shipping exceptional. A great place to do business with. Thank you.

Factory Part as advsertised & as requested. MGW was one of the few places that DID NOT attempt to sell you the 9mm assembly as working with both 9 & 40. The 9mm assembly may very well "work" with both but if the factory originally installed to .40 assembly, then why wouldn't I replace it with same (in the .40 of course). Works flawlessly & I do love the S&W M&P line of pistols. Very underrated handgun that has never let me down after thousands of rounds.
