Kimber Micro 380 not reloading after a shot

My wife’s Kimber micro 380 would not reload after a shot. After each shot she had to push the slide forward to get it to engage. After replacing guide rod (with the crescent cut out) and the spring it solved all problems. Kimber should of made a recall for the guide rod replacement.
