The handguard is installed in two halves over the barrel to protect the user from barrel heat buildup. MP10 Drop in handguards

These are the skinniest drop handguards I have found. I am happy with them, but if you plan on using them on a AR15 midlength you should know that it needs a round end cap. So if you have a pinned FSB, you are going to have to remove it and remove the triangle end cap. I should also point out these do not have any heat shields. I knew this going in, so it wasn't a deal breaker for me. They locked in tight and look/feel great.

It has a flatter profile which is what I wanted, but has no heat shield and no notches to add them, cut your own, it won't fit regular mid or m4 shields, so old style car15 shield is the option, but they will be short.

Smallest diameter Mid Length I have found, perfect feel for me. Great price. No Heat shields but not needed for my mid length 6.8 or wildcat rounds.
