My philosophy with S&W (and other manufacturers as well) parts is that it's hard to go wrong with an OEM product. There are many aftermarket products out there promising enhanced performance. Sometimes that is true and other times it isn't and may, in some cases, be a lot less in terms of reliability and longevity than the OEM part. I ordered this part because at 30,000 rounds, I needed a new pin and I like to have a few extras on hand too.
