Description: FN 509 Tactical Magazine Release. Coated with a black finish, this steel ambidextrous magazine release is an OEM factory original component from FN America. The mag release is designed for the 509 Tactical pistol chambered in 9mm. The mag release poses left and right buttons on the side of the frame to allow for releasing of the magazine from the firearm. FNH small parts are made to the same quality standard that you would find from any other FN firearm or component.

Received the part quickly! Followed a video on YouTube for removal of existing and replacement. Worked like a charm.
Very happy as I am a southpaw and the 509 MRD LE is setup up for a right hand person so no bueno..

Replaced my right hand release on my 509 LS edge. I have little “hobbit hands” and really have to change my grip to reach with my thumb to drop the mag. Now I can use my middle finger of my right hand to push the release. The FNX45 came with the ambidextrous release from the factory.

I installed the FN 509 tactical mag release on a friends FNS 9 compact. It was a huge improvement. I really like the FNS 9 compact, but the mag release was horrible.

This helped with extraction of ALL mags on my standard FN 509. The extra bulk of the magazine release allows more movement across the magazine catch and releases mags easier. I found that my EMPTY mags caught a little and it was a follower issue in the magazine and not the release itself. So check your followers and clean them up. I replaced mine since they where scratched up pretty deep. Cheers.

True to the original part that came on my 509 Tac. Pretty easy install, just be careful to not bend the spring the keeps it in place, it’s pretty small.
