Purchased hoping it could be modified to replace the early style bolt...and it can be. Not for over-cautious beginners to attempt, but setting up and drilling the hole for the early style firing pin retainer pin is about all it took to get an old shotgun back in action. Overall dimensions of the early bolt and this late style bolt are identical. You could purchase all of the new style internal parts and not have to drill that firing pin retainer hole, but why bother with the extra cost?
