Description: Browning Euro-Bolt, Rifle Stock, Magnum Calibers. Factory Oil Finish. Browning Original Cut Checkering. Browning Factory Installed Recoil Pad. Factory Installed Sling Swivel Studs. Monte Carlo style comb and cheek-piece. Installation required by qualified, trained gunsmith. Note: This stock will also fit any Long Action A-Bolt however, the barrel channel is inletted for the Magnum Calibers. Fitting this stock to a standard long action caliber can result in a wider "gap" between the stock and the barrel.

Browning A-Bolt History

The production of the A-Bolt bolt action rifle began in 1985. In 1994, Browning introduced the BOSS (Ballistic Optimizing Shooting System) and with it the A-Bolt II. The A-Bolt II Model is currently in production.

In 1975 Browning standardized its serial number identification.

  1. Serial Number beginning with 01001 at the start of each year.
  2. Date of Manufacture is a two digit code:
    Z=1, Y=2, X=3, W=4, V=5, T=6, R=7, P=8, N=9, M=0
  3. A-Bolt Type:
    2G7=Gold Medallion
    217=Medallion
    L17=Medallion Left Hand
    2M7=Micro Medallion
    717=Hunter
    E17=Euro-Bolt
    7S7=Stainless Stalker
    LS7=Stainless Stalker Left Hand
    7C7=Composite Stalker

This would be an A-Bolt Gold Medallion rifle,manufactured in 1985 with the serial number 01001.

1994-1998

In 1994 Browning introduced the BOSS (Ballistic Optimizing Shooting System). Along with the BOSS, Browning made changes to the A-Bolt and introduced the A-Bolt II.

  3. A-Bolt II Type: 351=All A-Bolt II Centerfire Rifles
