Description: Browning A-Bolt, Grey Wolf Rifle Stock, Long Action Standard. Crafted from quality wood with a satin finish, this Grey Wolf rifle stock from Browning is designed for the A-Bolt and A-Bolt II rifles chambered in standard long action calibers such as .270 Win, .30-06 Springfield and others. The stock boasts factory original cut checkering along with front and rear sling swivel studs. A Browning recoil pad comes installed as well. Browning A-Bolt History

The production of the A-Bolt bolt action rifle began in 1985. In 1994, Browning introduced the BOSS (Ballistic Optimizing Shooting System) and with it the A-Bolt II. The A-Bolt II Model is currently in production.

In 1975 Browning standardized its serial number identification.

  1. Serial Number beginning with 01001 at the start of each year.
  2. Date of Manufacture is a two digit code:
    Z=1, Y=2, X=3, W=4, V=5, T=6, R=7, P=8, N=9, M=0
  3. A-Bolt Type:
    2G7=Gold Medallion
    217=Medallion
    L17=Medallion Left Hand
    2M7=Micro Medallion
    717=Hunter
    E17=Euro-Bolt
    7S7=Stainless Stalker
    LS7=Stainless Stalker Left Hand
    7C7=Composite Stalker

This would be an A-Bolt Gold Medallion rifle,manufactured in 1985 with the serial number 01001.
1994-1998

In 1998 Browning redid the standardization of its serial number identifications to work with its new data base program, Oracle.

  1. Serial Number beginning with 01001 at the start of each year.
  2. Date of Manufacture is a two digit code:
    Z=1, Y=2, X=3, W=4, V=5, T=6, R=7, P=8, N=9, M=0
  3. A-Bolt II Type: 351=All A-Bolt II Centerfire Rifles

This would be a A-Bolt II Rifle, manufactured in 1998 with the serial number 01001.
