  3. Serial Number beginning with 01001at the start of each year

This would be a BDA 380 Pistol, manufactured in 1977 with the serial number 0100

Replacement spring was 3/8 inch longer than original. Slide racking force required was thus increased. There is no doubt that the pistol used a Type 1 spring, based on serial no. Test firing was completely normal, with zero malfunctions; so, it appears that the length difference was likely due to long term compression of the original spring - which also functioned flawlessly.
