The flash hider fit perfectly as did the pliers. A warning however to those with the factory Springfield flash hider (without bayonet lug). The castle nut was WAY WAY over torqued. A great deal of patience is needed. DO NOT use the pliers to remove the factory castle nut. You will ruin the pliers AND the castle nut. First remove the allen lock screw at the front of the sight. Support the factory flash hider with a block of wood under the the location of the castle nut. This will insure you are not putting undue stress on the barrel. The first day I regularly soaked the castle nut with penetrating oil. The second day I used a heat gun and warmed up the area until the penetrating oil smoked then sprayed again with the oil. I then used a brass punch of the appropriate size to fit the castle nut notch at an angle. You will also need a 16oz ball peen hammer. Mass is the key here but something not so heavy that you can't control it and risk hitting your barrel. Then position the brass and hit it squarely with moderate force (let the mass do the work) until you are frustrated then stop and come back to it. Regularly soak it with penetrating oil. Multiple sessions with the heat gun may help but I only did it once. I started to notice movement in the nut later in the day. Third day was a repeat of day 2. I am telling you the nut is way too tight. Even when you begin to notice movement it is still too tight for the pliers. Continue until the nut is loose and you can turn with your fingers. Clean the area throughly before installing the new flash hider. Here's where the pliers come in. Tighten the nut as tight as you can with the pliers then test the lock screw. Back off the nut until the lock screw engages the notch in the nut. The screw should be slightly below the surface of the hole. This process worked perfectly for me AND the bayonet lug fit perfectly with my 1961 vintage M6 bayonet.

Wanted to upgrade my M-1a flash suppressor to have the bayonet lug. The suppressor I got here had a nice finish to it and installed in minutes. The pliers were a nice add on. It's not a high quality tool but it does the job and made the installation a lot easier. Totally happy with this product.

Ordered new flash suppressor for my M1A so I could finally have a bayonet lug. Searched all over the internet and these guys had the best price. For just a few dollars more, the pliers made the switch quick and easy. Order came quick and the part was a perfect match. Could not have been more happy.

I mistakenly bought the CA compliant version of the M1A, and wanted the stock flash hider. I was unsure if this would work for the 6.5 barrel, which it does.

Made the purchase of the kit on the 10th and it was waiting for me when I got home today. Item is a Springfield Factory part. Good quality as it should be. Getting the pliers with it was a bonus as taking off the old flash hider with out it would be a challenge. Looks just like the rifle I carried in my army days.
