Description: Browning BBR Rifle, Stock, Short Action. Showcasing wood construction with a factory high gloss finish, this Browning BBR rifle stock is for the Short Action models chambered in .22-250 Rem, .243 Win, .308 Win, .257 Roberts, and 7mm-08 Rem. This stock features original cut checkering and a factory installed butt plate.

Please Note:

  • This stock is a factory new Browning stock, however due to long term storage and transportation some stocks may have a slight blemish or impressions. Also: No returns will be accepted on any piece of wood being sold as blemished.
  • This stock is only available in the Bull Barrel or Heavy Barrel Contour. Will not fit the standard or "Pencil Barrel" BBR's.

Browning BBR History

The production of the Browning BBR rifle began in 1978 and was offered in the Long or Standard Action Calibers of .25-06 Rem, .270 Win, .30-06 Sprg, 7mm Rem Mag, .300 Win Mag, or .338 Win Mag and Short Action Calibers of .22-250 Rem., .243 Win, .257 Roberts, 7mm-08 Rem, or .308 Win. The production of the BBR bolt action rifle ended in 1984 when Browning introduced the A-Bolt.

In 1976, Browning re-standardized its serial number identification.

  1. Serial Number beginning with 01001 at the start of each year.
  2. Date of Manufacture is a two digit code: Z=1, Y=2, X=3, W=4, V=5, T=6, R=7, P=8, N=9, M=0

This would be an BBR rifle manufactured in 1981 with the serial number 01001.
