Phenomenal Trigger but…

We have several rifles with adjustable triggers but I was never totally satisfied with the stock Vanguard trigger adjustment. After some research, Midwest Gunworks had them in stock and surely the best price. Received my items quickly so I went to work on the rifle installing the new trigger. This is where the ding to a 4 star rating comes. The throw of the Timney trigger assembly’s safety is longer than the stock Weatherby. This additional length of travel to allow it to detent in the fire position was stopped by the clearance in the stock. Took me a few minutes to figure out how much clearance was needed. I used a Dremel tool with a burr bit but you could possibly do the make the same clearance with a rasp or file, if you have enough patience. After getting everything properly adjusted and seated, it was smiles on faces. This was on my son’s primary hunting rifle and his impression was the best trigger we have in our collection. I’ve used Timney triggers in other rifles for years which always makes them my first choice when replacing a stock unit. I will agree with my son though as this trigger has really paired great with this rifle set up.
