MGW was great. The part was hideous.

I bought this part to replace the hammer in a 1977 model Winchester 9422M that had a broken half cock notch. This new production hammer (which is an official Winchester part) is probably functional, but just looks shoddy and crude. Although I couldn’t get an answer from Winchester or MGW about the country of origin, I’m willing to bet it’s from a foreign manufacturer. It’s not even close to the level of quality in my original. I returned the part for a refund and tracked down a nice, original hammer on eBay instead, that looks ten times better and was half the cost. MGW was fair to deal with. It’s Winchester that dropped the ball. Bring back American manufacturing.
