For shooters who have a hard time hitting the standard size slide stop. Wilson Combat has developed a semi-extended, fully machined Bullet Proof® slide stop. This extended lever design is easy to hit under stress or when wearing gloves. The pad is the same width as the standard Bullet Proof slide stop ® and is appropriate for competition or hard -use, tactical 1911 handguns.
The slide stop takes an unbelievable pounding in a 1911 Auto making it vulnerable to breakage & wear. Bullet Proof® Slide Stops are fully machined from solid bar stock with extra metal left in critical areas for added durability. The key to a Bullet Proof® Slide Stop is the material. After considerable research and field testing, Wilson Combat has found what they believe to be the finest slide stop steel possible which when properly heat treated produces a truly Bullet Proof® Slide Stop. As if this wasn't enough, Bullet Proof® Slide Stops have a built in detent, serrated top and maximum tolerance shaft. This is a drop in part requiring little to no fitting in properly manufactured 1911 Autos.

Added on my basic GI Charles Daly 1911 to upgrade. It does not look too flashy or stick out too far to cause issues. It actually looks like it could have come with the firearm. It definitely works easier than the original one. I also noticed it doesn't seem to wear nearly as much as the original. Still looks new. The original worked, but bluing was coming off.

I looked everywhere for a fully extended slide release like is available for traditional .45 cal 1911 pistols but for my Kimber KHX in 9mm that I use for IDPA. Semi-extended was all I could find so I finally decided to try it. This part has enough extension to make it very easy to use, even with shooting gloves on. I bought it from Midwest Gunworks because I know I can count on them to get it on the way fast. I had heard that minor fitting might be required but it was a drop in for my gun.
