This part added ease and tighter thumb contact. My release is right there. Easy to go into battery and solid steel (my Sig release was alloy--cheaply made) Wilson makes better parts!

One of the the biggest issues I have with the 1911 was the very short slide release. I had to take my hand off the grip to operate it.
This one I am now finally able to operate with my thumb without having to change my grip.
I gave it 4 stars because it took a little smoothing and fitting to make it fit and work good. The casting job and surface finish was not the best. I expected a little better from a company as highly regarded as WC.

Great piece.I put it on my Sig C3 1911 45.I had problems with slide locking on empty.Now locks every time.I am going to buy two more for my Kimber and Ruger 1911 45`s.The extension makes it easy to lock and release the slide.

This piece dropped right in (after some oiling) to my Sig UC 1911 and it give my thumb that needed relief when locking back the slide. Closing the slide is made even easier now too! It is a slight cosmetic piece, when you first look you won't even notice it. It blends in and you kinda half to look for it but it still looks great too. Highly recommend if you want that bit of thumb relief when opening or closing your slide or if you want that little bit of flair on your 1911.
