Springfield XDM 3.8" .45 ACP Recoil System

Been reading about when to change out the recoil spring.Forums had people saying I never replaced it in 10 thousand rounds and Springfield says something like every 2 years or every 1,500 to 2 thousand rounds.My XDM 45 has about 2 thousand rounds about 7 years old.When cleaning it I noticed the slide returned kinda slow right at the end as it returned when charging.I replaced the recoil spring with this new spring and the difference was like wow that old spring was really weak.The strength to pull the slide back was way much more with the new spring.I say if your wondering if you need a new recoils spring or any other spring you probably need one.I had a Colt mustang 380 where the magazine spring got so weak it couldnt push up the slide latch and it didnt have 2 thousand rounds,but it was 8 years old.
