Replacing The Sticky Durastock

The stock fits great except for a couple minor details. I had to file the stock a little bit to allow the bolt release to function. Also the screws for the recoil pad are hard to turn. I substituted square drive screws so I could use a small ratchet.

Browning (Factory Original) Stock - Perfect!

The stock was delivered on time, exactly as ordered. Price was more than fair. I was surprised and delighted that it was an OEM Browning-badged stock, rather than an aftermarket item. It fit our rifle perfectly, and a trip to the range confirmed that the X-Bolt rifle was every bit as accurate as it had been with the original stock, and the scope needed no adjustment - at all. Very Happy Camper here!! Many folks are aware that Browning had an uncharacteristic mishap with the manufacture of a run of synthetic stocks for the X-Bolt rifles. They are offering free replacements - but in order to get a replacement, the owner has to ship the entire rifle to Browning and - we were advised - wait months for it to come back. In the run-up to hunting season, that was not an option. Our local dealers gave us no hope of them locating a replacement for us. Then we found MGW. You folks are the best. Thank you!!!!

My original browning stock was got so sticky that I had to replace it. This new stock was identical to my original stock and went on cleanly. I had to slightly file my rear screw to allow the bolt to perform flawlessly, but this was not a big deal. I am very satisfied with the purchase. The gun I have is chambered in 300wsm

I wanted to replace the original "sticky" stock. The new one is a perfect fit but required some filing of the stock under the bolt release lever. (It was filed down on the original stock as well.) Screws for recoil pad are a tight fit and should be worked in/out a couple of times before attaching the recoil pad. You can get replacement screws at a hardware store. The action screws should both be tightened to 35in/lb. If properly done barrel will be free floating.
