Half a thread too long

Paid extra for a factory replacement site for my son's sx4. The threads fit, but are a half turn too long. This causes the site to tighten down and sit proud to the gun barrel and perpendicular to the line of sight. Think T-shaped barrel with site. I ended up making a spacer from an aluminum washer to get it to fit snug and in line. To fix it perfectly I will need to file down the length of the mounting screw a little to get it to rotate into position. In my mind I was expecting a perfect fit for a factory replacement part. It will work however beware there may be some smithing involved.

The front sights I received where to small and would not work there are two sizes that screw into the rib mine is the larger , we had no way of knowing but needed the larger diameter screw. To much trouble to package and send back.
