GrovTec Quick Release Base for Hollow Stocks, Full Rotation

Drilled, threaded, & epoxied bases into both sides of wooden stock, works perfectly with sling. Not a hollow stock so no need of nut. Handsome strong fit with sling. Always excellent products, but they do not ship ammo to Washington State anymore (very disappointing) many others do.

Excellent product and one of a kind for this application.

I bought these to do away with the standard pic, and Mloc types. I like that these sit much flusher when not in use, and less likely to snag when in use.

I have several guns in which I really didn't want those QD mounts that stick out so much, or that have to be added to a picatinny rail. These are about as flush as you get.

Added one Quick Release to each side of the standard stock for the Beretta 1301 Tactical. The wall of the stock was 0.10 inch thick and did not seem very strong. So I added a stainless steel 1X2 inch 0.057 inch backing plate with a hole for the Quick Release. I used epoxy to bond the plate to the stock and to hold it to the interior of the stock. The large nut for the Quick Release made full contact with the threads on the Quick Release against the backing plate. Blue Loctite holds nut in place. Not possible for the Quick Release to pull out of the stock now.

If it didn't allow full rotation it would be an excellent part. They're made on a lathe and it's a lot easier and quicker to use a groving tool to allow it full rotation. If they added an operation in a mill to do the groving to allow only 80° rotation it would double in cost due to time constraints. Use a 9/16" drill bit and some thread locker and it'll hold up. I'd buy again if I want a machinist....

Works well to adapt a hollow stock for a qd swivel. The body could be another 1/8" longer though. ON the stock I put it on the stock body was just barely thick enough for me to get the nut started. It would probably also work well for putting a flush qd pocket on a handguard, instead of using an MLOK one that sticks out.
