Description: Gre-Tan Remington 700 & Model Seven Ejector Kit. Constructed from steel components, this small parts kit from Gre-Tan Rifles is made to fit both Remington Model 700 and Model Seven rifles chambered in long or short action calibers. The kit includes all the necessary parts for the complete ejection function of the rifle; an ejector, ejector pin and two ejector springs - one standard and one 1/3 the weight. The reduced eight ejector spring helps in preventing damage to case necks and throwing the brass beyond reach. On a chambered cartridge the ejector has been made longer to help with pushing the case to the end of the bolt nose and to stop closer to the bolt face. On some bolts that have had the bolt face re-machined, you must make sure the ejector is flush, or just below the face. If not, you may not be able to close the bolt on cartridges, and will have to shorten the ejector stem to allow for the ejector to be flush or below the bolt face.

I have a factory Rem 700 bolt that had a very heavy ejector plunger. Every spent case has a dent on the case mouth. Talked to my smith and he said to cut off two sections of the old spring to lighten it up. Instead, I bought set of these springs and used the least tensioned one. I’ve just turned my bolt into a totally different animal for a few bucks. It works flawless (as of now). Took my rifle out to the range and shot a few groups at 500 yards. 3 shots measuring 1.2”. This was something I never could do in the past. Did another 4 shots measuring 1.4”. I believe that plunger force pushing the brass into the shoulder of the chamber has something to do with it. Every spent case is as round at it gets. I recommend it and II would buy it again if I need to.

I really like the 2 springs for the ejector. The lighter spring puts the empties right next to the rifle when shooting off the bench. No hunting for the spent rounds after a day of shooting. thanks for a great upgrade of this ejector.

I think this kit is excellent. However, the reduced power spring is almost too weak, and it is not useful for practical applications — it really is just for benchrest shooting. Anything requiring brisk cycling of the action will inevitably cause an issue. But the standard power spring kicks rounds out with authority.
