Description: Ranger Point Precision Marlin Hammer Spur Extension, Black, For 1983 and Older. CNC machined from 6061 aluminum, this hammer spur extension is designed for Marlin pre-safety rifles built pre-1983 and any Marlin 39A models. With deep diamond checkering, this hammer extension provides secure hammer control even when running a scope on your action rifle. This package comes with the hammer extension, a set screw, and an Allen wrench.

- Compound curvature to better match the user's thumb

Marlin 39A hammer extension

With so many submodels of marlin 39's, you may need to file down your hammer to make it fit. On my 39A Mountie, I filed on each side of the hammer and filed off the flare on the top of the rifles hammer spur to make it fit. Literally less than a minute using a belt sander with 80 grit of all things. Works and looks great... You'll almost never find the perfect fit with aftermarket parts on an antique rifle, so don't be afraid to take out a file, dremel, or in my case a belt sander and go to work. Just be careful and remove the metal in small increments because you can't put it back on.
Except triggers, don't mess with triggers. Those are best left to the professionals.
