Description: Power Custom Smith & Wesson K, L Frame, Post 97 CNC'd Target Hammer. Power Custom's Target Hammer for the S&W K and L-Frame revolver produced post-97 is perfect for trigger action jobs on new-style guns. The Target Hammer is fully CNC'd and Wire EMD from bar stock and is manufactured from case-hardened steel. The target hammer is .500" wide on the Spur.

Significant Uprgrade Over Factory MIM Hammer

I purchased the Power Custom Post-97 hammer for my S&W 648-2 in .22 WMR in hopes of improving the trigger pull. When I received the hammer it had very slight rust speckling on it that cleaned up entirely and easily with some CLP lubricant and 0000 steel wool. The hammer was a drop in fit but the hole for the hammer pin is snug, so be sure to lubricate it before installing. Mine DID install without any hole reaming or other modification. The single action pull was notably improved, and even more so when I replaced the factory MIM trigger with a new, old stock S&W target trigger. There are no MIM parts in the revolver now and the trigger pulls for both DA and SA are reminiscent of the earlier generation Smiths (which is to say GREAT!). In all, I'm pleased the way it turned out and would do it all again without hesitation.
