Description: Ranger Point Precision Marlin Lever Action Quick Takedown Screw, 45-70 Govt, Black. This Quick Takedown Screw is designed for Marlin Lever action-rifles chambered in .45-70 Govt. Oversize, Marlin lever-action chromoly steel quick takedown screws allow for easy lever removal for a thorough cleaning, plus makes it easy to swap out standard levers for larger loop levers for gloved hands or cowboy action shooting. Large diameter, six points provide a non-slip grasp during installation and removal. Replaces the original, factory lever screw without alteration. Made of 4140 chromoly steel with a black nitride coating with Marlin proprietary thread pitch .210-28.

Note: It is recommended that all Ranger Point Precision parts be installed by a qualified and trained gunsmith.

replacing the OE screw allows you to remove the bolt/lever without the need of tools. yes it looks nice but it's actually a very functional part as well.
