Description: Winchester SXP 12ga. Magazine Throat. This OEM factory original magazine throat is manufactured for the Winchester SXP 12 gauge pump shotguns. Molded from durable black polymer, the magazine throat is installed between the magazine tube and receiver and assists in loading the shells from the magazine tube. This piece is perfect as a spare on the workbench or as an immediate replacement for a lost or damaged component.

I understand this is a weakness of the SXP, therefore it’s good to have some on hand in case of a failure. It’s nice the part is available in stock. 🇺🇸👮🏻♂️👍🏻

This plastic part is a serious weakness in the otherwise well-designed Winchester SXP pump shotgun. The entire front end of the trigger unit is supported by two small plastic tabs on this plastic throat. Plastic gets to be brittle over time, or in cold weather, and the tabs break off and/or the entire component cracks up, rendering your shotgun useless. Winchester, or someone else, needs to make a strong metal version of this so that we can all go afield with confidence.

The problem with the magazine throat is it is made out of plastic. The tabs on the throat break off, so the gun won't cycle the second round. I would recommend keeping a spare on hand. Make sure you can remove the magazine tube before you go hunting in case you have to remove the tube in the field. I had to apply cold and heat to remove the tube. I applied a little grease to the threads when I reinstalled the magazine tube.
