Winchester SXP 20ga. Slide Arm, Chrome

Correct part. Getting the slide forearm off the metal slide arm part is challenging. Winchester uses a three locking compound liberally applied. Surrounded by plastic, heat cannot be applied effectively. So penetrating oil like kroil, let it soak, then use a wide flat blade tool to unscrew the fin threaded speicl "nut" that screws in like a choke tube. I used a large thick hard steel washer, ground down to fit the two notches in the lock nut. Needle nose small vice grip to hold and turn the lock nut a little at a time. 30 some turns ti remove. Slide arm part must be "fitted" to operate smoothly in and out of the reciever housing. Squeezing inward on the slide arm legs before install, trial and error style, in various places along the slide arm legs will get it to operate smoothly. Expect fitment to take 5 or 6 instal cycles and 45 min to get smooth.

My son’s shotgun actually broke the original part after years of use. I ordered this one and it fit perfectly and was easy to install. The chrome plating made me confident in its ability to resist corrosion better than the factory blued part as well as maybe offering some strength benefits.
