Description: Smith & Wesson J-Frame Thumbpiece, Stainless. Constructed from quality stainless steel, this OEM factory original thumbpiece is manufactured for the J Frame revolvers chambered in .38 Special and .357 Mag. Once initiated, the thumbpiece allows for the cylinder to be released for cleaning, loading live rounds and unloading spent casings. This top notch piece is perfect as a spare for the workshop, or as an immediate replacement for a lost or damaged part.

Fit perfect and fast shipping! Great price too! Replaced my 442 blued release with this as it was getting surface rust from carry. Gives the 442 a unique look and makes the thumbpiece more visible.

The blued steel thumbpiece for my alloy J-frame would display signs of rust regularly every summer when it was exposed to perspiration. It took a couple decades, but I tired of removing the rust, sanding, and cold bluing the thumbpiece every June. The MGW replacement fits perfectly, works, and looks great. It was also reasonably priced compared to alternative products.
