Description: Smith & Wesson J/K/L/N/X-Frame Sear Spring. Constructed from steel, this OEM factory original sear spring is manufactured for the Smith & Wesson revolver line including the J, K, L, X, and N frame models with MIM (Metal Injection Molded) hammers chambered in various calibers such as .41 Rem Mag, .44 Special, .45 Colt, .357 Mag and more. This spring is installed in conjunction with the sear into the hammer and retains and releases energy from the sear during the release of the hammer.

Review of a unicorn

The J-Frame sear spring turned out to be a unicorn. Couldn't find one anywhere. Finally, I put myself in line to get two when they became available. After a good bit of time, they arrived. I immediately finished the trigger rebuild in my 642, and it shoots like a dream. If you have a S&W revolver, I would put in for one or two now. You never know when you'll need one.

MGW had the right part for my S&W Airweight. It was shipped out fast and arrived as promised. The only downside was the cost of shipping. The part $4.75, shipping was close to double that. I was somewhat disappointed with this especially since the spring was tiny and I'm sure could have been sent with regular first class mail stamp.

When S&W switched to an unpinned DA sear, the sear spring must be in perfect, unbent condition to keep the DA sear in place. Even a slightly bent sear spring will be problematic. Keep some spares on hand.
