Requires gunsmithing on older model 92FS

Unfortunately for me, this barrel will not work with my 20 year old Beretta USA 92FS without gunsmithing. After factoring in the cost of the barrel, shipping and gunsmithing, for a couple hundred more, I could have just bought a newer 92. I would urge caution to anyone looking to update the barrel for an older Beretta 92FS. Other than that, it is a genuine Beretta (Italian) barrel. Cannot recommend.

I bought this as it is advertised as true drop in application, requiring no gunsmithing. This is not true for older model 92FS. Mine was "born on" 03/31/2000 & I cannot rack the slide with this unit. Way too tight. I have been informed by both MWG & Beretta Company that I will need to has gunsmithing work done in order for it to function properly. Could probably just buy a new Beretta for what gunsmithing will cost. Would not recommend for older model 92FS

The Barrell was need because I gave my son my old 92D and he informed me that he was not find of it because of the long and heavy trigger pull. So I decided on a new hobby. Gunsmithing! So I proceed to round up the sear, the sear pin and spring. I then make the decision that I'm not giving a gun with no way to decock it except the old cowboy way. Especially since the D model has a smooth hammer to anyone especially my one and only child. (By child I mean my kid he's 23 so stop what your thinking). I proceed to by every part and price to hotrod the to a 92G full size. Well the 92D is a centurian model which means the frame and barrel and Little under a ½ inch shorter than a full size. But but the guts are all the same. Long story short, the gun cost 400 back in 98. The hotrodding and conversion pieces were 800 and I was a barrel short! Should have did more research! For 1200 I could have bought him a brand-new damn gun. Lol hot rod version, but the money was worth the hours me and him have spent pulling it apart and learning and the long hours to come of rebuilding it. Oh the barrel is Italian made so enough said on that!
